Meet The Coaches
Building better athletes and better people since day one. Meet the coaching staff behind fifteen years of elite basketball development.
Where It
Started
From humble beginnings scrapping for gym space wherever it was available, to now operating multiple training facilities across MetroWest Boston. We have coached and trained individuals of all ages and at all levels of skill, from beginner to professional.
Co-founded by Kenny Small Jr, Kenny Small Sr, and Terrell Hollins — all with deep roots in competitive basketball at Brandeis University — Boston Elite Sports Training started as a local skills training program and grew into a comprehensive youth development brand.

"We develop better humans through basketball."

Coaching Philosophy
"I coach every kid like they're my own. The game teaches you accountability, resilience, and how to compete with class. If you can handle the pressure of a fourth-quarter situation, you can handle anything life throws at you."
Kenny Small Sr
Head of Youth Development
Playing Career
From Bridgeport, CT. Played college basketball at North Carolina A&T University — one of the premier HBCUs in the country. Brought a physical, defensive-minded game that directly shaped his coaching approach.
Coaching
Known for his patience and old-school teaching style, Coach Kenny Sr specializes in youth development for grades K through 8. Focuses on building strong fundamentals, basketball IQ, and a genuine love for the game in the youngest athletes.
Coaching Philosophy
"Get the fundamentals right, and everything else follows. I want every kid who walks through our doors to leave a better person — not just a better player. That starts with discipline, respect, and showing up every day ready to work."

Terrell Hollins
Director of Basketball Operations
Playing Career
The only player in Brandeis University history with 1,000 points, 500 rebounds, and 200 assists. First-team All-UAA, first-team All New-England DIII, started in NABC DIII Senior All-Star Game.
Coaching
Head Men's Varsity Basketball Coach at Concord Academy. Former Assistant Coach at Brandeis (3 seasons), Head JV at Rivers School. Former Athletic Director at John M. Barry Boys and Girls Club of Newton.
Coaching Philosophy
"I played every position in college. That versatility is what I teach — be complete. Don't just be a scorer or a passer. Be the player your team can't win without. That mentality carries over into everything you do."
Our Philosophy
The three pillars behind every session, every season
Skill Development
Technical excellence through structured progression. Every drill has a purpose, every rep builds toward measurable improvement in game situations.
Character Building
Discipline, respect, teamwork on and off the court. We hold athletes to a standard that prepares them for life beyond basketball.
Competitive Environment
Game-real training, not just drills. Athletes compete in every session so they're ready when the lights come on and the scoreboard matters.

National Hoops Foundation
The National Hoops Foundation extends Boston Elite's impact beyond the gym — providing opportunities, resources, and mentorship to young athletes who need it most.
"My son had all the makings to be a solid basketball player. Boston Elite developed him into a great ball player. I most definitely attribute his full-ride scholarship to the fundamental skills taught by the coaches."
